However, Blizzard addressed this very issue in their October 14 update on the servers, saying they were implementing WoW-style queues to prevent server issues as things get back on track.
“This will keep the population at the safe level we have at the time, so we can monitor where the system is straining and address it before it brings the game down completely,” devs explained. “Each time we fix a strain, we’ll be able to increase the population caps.”
So the silver lining to all of this is while it might take a while to log in right now, it will hopefully improve as Blizzard brings the servers up to speed.
