When is Control coming back in Apex Legends? Respawn confirms LTM improvments coming

June 2023 · 2 minute read

The fan-favorite Control LTM was removed only two weeks after the release of Apex Legends Season 12, but Respawn has finally confirmed that it’s making a return.

With the start of Apex Legends Season 12: Defiance, Respawn Entertainment added their first new limited-time mode for a few seasons – Control.

The 9-vs-9 respawn mode, which pit teams against each other as they look to capture three control points on the map, proved to be popular with players both as an aside from the battle royale and as a way to warm up.

However, only two weeks after Defiance launched, the devs removed the mode to make improvements and hinted it was coming back in the near future.

Well, after countless requests, Respawn has finally confirmed that Control will be returning with the upcoming Warriors Collection event.

Control is a whole new way of playing Apex Legends.

When will Control return to Apex Legends?

Multiple members of the Respawn team confirmed that Control would be returning in Season 12 as a part of another event.

Well, we now know that the Warriors Collection event set to kick off on March 29 will be re-introducing Control to the game, but this time with a new location.

Instead of just Olympus and Storm Point, the 9v9 chaos will also be taking place at Caustic’s Treatment Lab on Kings Canyon.

There’s no doubt that the lab is going to be the primary point to defend at the new location, as once a team has gained control of the main building, it’s going to be difficult to snatch it back.

The Control LTM is returning in the Warriors Collection event.

It’s worth keeping in mind that as Control an LTM, it will be disappearing once again on April 12. So, make sure you’re ready for the event to kick off so you can make the most of the two weeks that the fan-favorite mode is live.

Although the community has called on Respawn to make Control permanent, it seems unlikely that they will opt to do so, as taking it away generates a lot of excitement for its return.

Either way, with Control set to make another appearance in Season 12, it’s guaranteed to get a lot of players online and competing in the fast-paced game mode.
