December 2022 · 11 minute read

The Dead by Daylight 5.6.0 update is finally here to bring new killer Sadako to the live servers along with plenty of bug fixes and gameplay balances listed in the complete patch notes.

DBD players have been able to get their hands on the Onryō for weeks in the PBE ahead of her official launch. After receiving loads of feedback, developers Behaviour Interactive are ready to officially introduce The Ring’s star killer to its audience in the Sadako Rising update.

Players will also be delighted to hear that The Nurse will be making her way back into the rotation after receiving much-needed bug fixes.

There’s plenty more in the DBD 5.6.0 patch notes to explore so take a look at the complete update below.

DBD new killer Sadako

Sadako has crawled out of the well and into the live Dead by Daylight servers in the 5.6.0 update, making her the 27th killer in the game.

DBD players will have to contend with her insta-kill ‘Condemned’ mechanic while navigating the map since the devs purposefully made it so that she’s hard to see until she gets really close.

Behaviour did tweak some of the VFX for Sadako since it was causing photosensitivity concerns, and could update her again after launch.

The Nurse returns to DBD

Fan-favorite and bane of all Survivors, The Nurse is returning to DBD with the 5.6.0 update after previously being taken down due to a bug.

The killer would sometimes get stuck trying to grab, making her locked in place for the remainder of the match. The devs were quick to take her off the rotation but it seems as all is well with her now.

There are plenty more changes coming in the Dead by Daylight 5.6.0 patch notes which you can find below courtesy of Behaviour.

Changes from PTB

Dev Note: These changes are intended to make The Onryō more viable on open maps, and allow her to Manifest more frequently during chases. In addition, passive Condemned progression has been buffed (and removal nerfed) to make it more threatening overall.

Dev Note: Corrective Actions already had this behavior, it just wasn’t clearly stated in the description on the PTB.
