Is Sylveon coming to Pokemon Go? Dataminers find new evidence

November 2022 · 2 minute read

Sylveon has finally been given a date for its long-awaited Pokemon Go debut, and fans won’t have to wait too long to add the Fairy-type to their team.

Sylveon is a Fairy-type introduced in Generation VI. It evolves from Eevee along with Espeon, Flareon, Glaceon, Jolteon, Leafeon, Umbreon, and Vaporeon. For many Trainers, it’s a personal favorite.

It’s arguably one the most adorable-looking Pokemon, which is no surprise given its pale cream-colored fur, blue eyes, long ears, tiny nose, and two bows. Fans can’t get enough of it.

Sylveon is widely considered to be one of the most adorable Fairies.

Sylveon is the only Eeveelution that hasn’t been added to Pokemon Go, which is strange given its popularity. But the good news is that’s about to change.

On May 10, Niantic revealed details about the upcoming Luminous Legends Y event which includes Yveltal’s debut, Shiny Galarian Zigzagoon, 3x Catch XP bonus, and… Sylveon!

Starting May 25, the Fairy-type will be able to evolve from Eevee when its Buddy hearts are maxed out. It’s assumed that Shiny Eevee will also be able to evolve into Shiny Sylveon.

Yveltal will soon be making its Pokémon GO debut in the Luminous Legends Y event! Mysteriously, Dark-type Pokémon will also be appearing more often, and Pancham will be hatching from Strange Eggs. https://t.co/SYISqECR3v pic.twitter.com/y2k9my2QSi

Niantic has been teasing the addition of Sylveon for a while. In March 2021, they shared a new loading screen with some exciting teases, including a blatant reference to the Legendary Xerneas, as well as other Pokemon such as Aromatisse, Kricketune, Servine, and more.

However, if you looked close enough, you could see what appears to be the silhouette of Sylveon. It’s subtle, but if you squint your eyes enough and see through the waterfall’s mist, it’s definitely there.

The loading screen features all kinds of interesting Pokemon, including Sylveon.

That’s not all; on April 7, 2021, dataminers shared a bunch of leaked information on The Silph Road subreddit including powered-up Pokestops and a collection of Gen 6 Pokemon that will be coming to Go.

Who’s included in that lineup? Sylveon, of course! This means that all of Eevee’s evolved forms will finally be available in Pokemon Go after five long years, and fans couldn’t be happier.
