Pokemon UNITE has a roster of over 20 playable new and upcoming characters to choose from in the new MOBA. From Attackers to All-Rounders, Defenders, Speedsters, and Supporters, there’s a playstyle type for everyone.
After a year of anticipation, Pokemon UNITE puts a new spin on some iconic, fan-favorite characters to play. The free-to-play MOBA is out now on Nintendo Switch and will launch on mobile devices on September 22, 2021.
From currently released characters to road maps that detail new ones (and ones that have yet to be revealed!) each one has something exciting to bring to the table.

New playable roster characters coming to Pokemon UNITE
Gardevoir has already been released, but Blastoise and an unannounced ‘mon, as of yet, are not.When originally announced, TiMi Studio stated that over 40 Pokemon will eventually be playable in UNITE. Gardevoir and Blissey have already been added post-launch, but there are plenty more on the way!
One of the first DLC characters announced by TiMi Studio was the Kanto-region favorite Blastoise, although it’s currently unknown when it will be released or what team role it will fit into.
It’s also been confirmed that the Sinnoh region’s wooly Mamoswine and the beloved Fairy-type Eeveelution Sylveon will both be arriving soon.
Pokemon UNITE attack types explained
Pokemon UNITE’s gameplay is centered around 5v5 team-based battles, alongside the five different roles that players can choose from listed above.
Each Pokemon in the game will either be a Ranged or Melee attacker, and will fill one of the following positions on your team: Attacker, All-Rounder, Defender, Speedster, and Supporter.
