The first batch of 48 Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass tracks have been added to the game. As fans await dig into the new content, we’ve listed all of the new courses in Wave 1 along with a look at might be ahead.

Nintendo plans to launch six different waves of downloadable content for Mario Kart 8. The first set came out on March 18 which had eight new tracks for MK8. When alls said and done, the game will have 48 new tracks when the last wave of the Booster Course Pass launches in late 2023.

Nintendo are drawing from multiple entries of the franchise including MK: Double Dash, Super Circuit, Mario Kart 64, and the mobile game Mario Kart Tour. Below, you’ll find all the release dates and confirmed tracks we know about so far.

Mario Kart Booster Course Pass Wave 1 release date

Wave 1 of the Mario Kart Booster Course Pass will be released on Friday, March 18, 2022, around the world. This is the first of six confirmed waves, and it will feature eight remastered tracks.

It’s currently unknown when the next wave of courses will arrive, but we’ll keep this page updated as soon as anything gets announced, so make sure you check back soon.

All tracks in the Mario Kart Booster Course Pass: Wave 1

Wave 1 of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass will feature two cups – the Golden Dash Cup and the Lucky Cat Cup – with four remastered tracks in each one, ranging from Coconut Mall to Tokyo Blur.

There’s no word on other courses that will be released in the future, but as Nintendo has got five more waves planned, it’s likely we’ll get another announcement within the next few months.

MK8 Booster Course track leaks

Ever since the first batch of the Booster Course Pass DLC dropped, dataminers have found hints that could suggest which tracks could make an appearance in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

These have yet to be confirmed by Nintendo, so take it with a grain of salt until the publisher confirms the tracks.

Dataminers and leakers are still reviewing the assets to see what else they uncover, so expect this list to change as more are found or debunked – while also waiting for Nintendo to confirm any such inclusion.

How much does the Mario Kart Booster Course Pass cost?

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe’s Booster Course Pass costs $24.99 (or £22.49 in the UK). This one-off payment will get you access to all 48 courses that will be released over the next two years.

The Booster Course Pass will also be included in the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack while you have an active subscription, so you don’t need to purchase the Pass if you already have this.

It’s worth pointing out that the Booster Course Pass is already available at a discounted price at various outlets in the UK, so have a look around before purchasing directly from the Nintendo eShop.

Do you need a Booster Course Pass to play new tracks?

An official description has confirmed that you don’t need to purchase the Booster Course Pass to play any of the newly remastered tracks in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – as long as you play with someone who does own it.

“Courses from wave 1 of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass can be played from March 18th locally or online in Friends and Rivals races, even if only one player owns the Booster Course Pass,” reads the description.

It continues: “From March 22nd, courses from wave 1 will also appear in the Random selection when playing Global or Regional races with anyone online.”

This is great news for players who don’t want to purchase the Booster Course Pass or are unsure if they can justify the cost, as it means they’ll still be able to try the newly remastered courses out for themselves.
