TFT patch 11.18 notes: Revenant nerfs, Aphelios & Draven buffs, B-patch hits Yasuo

November 2022 · 6 minute read

TFT patch 11.18 is now live. With Riot gearing up for Set 5 Worlds, they’re being light on the changes. However, that doesn’t mean they’ve stopped, with Revenant being the big target of the patch.

Much like how League is approaching its end-of-year World Championship, TFT Set 5 is about to celebrate its massive global event. Riot are tinkering with the meta somewhat, but not hard enough that it completely throws it off-balance during the major qualifiers.

TFT patch 11.18 is dropping during the middle of these big events, so the balance changes are lighter compared to the reworks we’ve seen recently.

Aphelios can’t keep himself out of the TFT patch notes.

What’s coming in TFT patch 11.18?

TFT patch 11.18b update: “Chug Bug” Kha’Zix, Vayne, Yasuo nerfed

Sorry Chug Bug enthusiasts, but your time has come. Riot is putting a stop to the popular Dawnbringer reroll comp with some significant Kha’Zix nerfs — not only targeting the unit but also the Assassin trait.

Vayne and Yasuo also received hefty nerfs, with the latter getting a massive true damage reduction on his stacking ability.

You can find the full TFT patch 11.18b notes below, which are now live as of September 15.

Revenant nerf “opens up more endgame builds”, promises Mortdog

Revenant has been arguably the most dominant trait of Set 5.5 — yes, even more so than Abomination.

It got a major buff in Dawn of Heroes due to the introduction of Fiddlesticks, with Revenant making up the core frontline in almost every late-game comp. However, Riot is angling for more diversity.

“As we approach the end of the set, [we’re] trying to stabilize and open up as many comps as possible before the finals,” developer Stephen ‘Mortdog’ Mortimer said on Twitter.

Riot are tackling the Revenant problem by adjusting individual units rather than the trait.

Volibear’s ability no longer removes all shields, instead dealing double damage to them. Ivern has also been nerfed with Daisy, his trusty companion, now stunning for less time.

Fiddlesticks is getting a slight buff however, and there’s other compensation changes to keep Revenant relevant. However, its durability as a frontline is definitely taking a hit.

Four-cost carries caught up in sweeping changes

Four-cost carries like Draven, Aphelios, Lucian, and Karma have fleeted in and out of the Set 5 meta. Recently, it’s been Aphelios and Jax as the two power picks, with Lucian also rearing his head.

However, the disparity between some four-cost units and their counterparts have been a problem.

Riot are aiming at tightening up the power imbalance within the high-cost units, buffing underpowered picks while nerfing strong meta carries. This includes another set of buffs to Aphelios, Karma, Galio, Fiddlesticks, Diana, and Draven.

Jax and Lucian, however, will be facing some nerfs.

Most of these changes only impact four-cost champions at three-star — so they won’t be too revolutionary — but the Jax, Lucian and Draven changes will be felt a bit earlier at one and two-star as well.

Jax is being nerfed as his Skirmisher-Ironclad comp proves to be too flexible.

Outside of the aforementioned changes, Nunu, Nidalee, Kayle, and Viego are getting nerfed, while Gragas, Pyke, and the Hellion trait are being buffed.
